MARK LYNCH SCORED 1-8 as Derry continued their impressive Division 1 challenge with a comfortable victory against Dublin.
Both sides were reduced to 14 men in the final quarter as Brian McIver’s side pulled away to win by six and close in on Cork at the top of the table.

For Dublin it was a second defeat of the campaign but Jim Gavin can take some positives away from Celtic Park including a masterful performance from Alan Brogan who put up 0-6, including five points from play, on only his second start since returning from injury.
But it was Lynch who stole the show. He got the game’s only goal shortly before half-time, helping Derry into a 1-10 to 0-9 lead at the break.
Dublin created their customary goal chances but couldn’t raise the green flag, coming closest when Tomás Brady hit the post early in the second half.
They trailed by three as the game entered the final quarter and briefly held a numerical advantage when Mark Craig, who had already been booked, was shown a black card and sent off with 10 minutes to play.
But Philly McMahon was shown a straight red moments later and Derry eased clear as that man Lynch tacked on his final scores of a fine afternoon’s work.
