THE GOLDEN STATE Warriors celebrated Stephen Curry’s birthday in style, accounting for the New Orleans Pelicans 125-107.

Curry turned 28 on Monday, and the defending champions extended their NBA record regular-season home winning streak to 49 games.

The NBA MVP had 27 points, five rebounds five assists for the Warriors (60-6), who improved to 31-0 at Oracle Arena this season.

Anthony Davis’ double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds was not enough to prevent defeat for the Pelicans.

The Chicago Bulls edged the Toronto Raptors 109-107 thanks to Doug McDermott, the Miami Heat downed the Denver Nuggets 124-119 and the Washington Wizards accounted for the Detroit Pistons 124-81.

Raptors fan Drake was courtside at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre and helped cause a five-second violation by getting in the ear of Bulls guard Justin Holiday.

The Utah Jazz made it three consecutive wins with a surprise 94-85 victory at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A 28-point haul from Rodney Hood inspired the Jazz, who snapped Cleveland’s three-game winning run in the process.

Derrick Favors (19 points) and Shelvin Mack (17 points, 10 assists) also made solid contributions.

LeBron James was the pick of the Cavs, having posted 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder, meanwhile, were both big winners.

James Harden (15 points) and Dwight Howard (seven points, 13 rebounds) were able to play reduced minutes as the Rockets crushed the depleted Memphis Grizzlies 130-81.

Harden and Howard played just over 25 minutes, while Donatas Motiejunas (18 points) and Trevor Ariza (16 points) guided the Rockets past the Grizzlies, who were without Lance Stephenson, Mike Conley, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, Chris Andersen, Brandan Wright and Vince Carter.

The Thunder saw off the Portland Trail Blazers 128-94 thanks to usual suspects Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.

Westbrook recorded his 12th triple-double of the season, finishing with 17 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds, and Durant contributed 20 points, while Enes Kanter top-scored with 26 points.

In other results, the Charlotte Hornets and their winning streak ended at seven following a 107-96 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, while the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 107-104 to the Phoenix Suns.
