Drogba hospitalised after sickening collision (Video)

Chelsea confirm that the striker is expected to be released later this evening.

DIDIER DROGBA IS expected to return home from hospital this evening after he suffered a nasty head injury during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Norwich City this afternoon.

The Ivorian was left unconscious following an accidental collision with Norwich keeper John Ruddy as the two competed for a high ball in the 64th minute.

The game, tied at 1-1, was stopped for seven minutes while Drogba was carefully treated by medical staff who gave him oxygen before removing him to hospital.

The striker later regained consciousness in hospital, and a statement from the club said that he would be released this evening following medical tests.
