AUSTRIAN SKIER MARCEL Hirscher narrowly avoided being hit by a drone-gone-rogue during a World Cup slalom race in Italy this evening.

Hirscher was sweeping right to clear a gate when the remote control device used by the broadcaster crashed into the snow at speed behind him.

Hirschel would finish second to Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen in the event, but now leads the World Cup standings ahead of Aksel Lund Svindal.
