All-Ireland champions Cuala bounce back to get Dublin campaign up and running

There were also wins for St Vincent’s and Craobh Chiarain in the Dublin SHC tonight.

ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS Cuala bounced back from Saturday’s defeat to Ballyboden St Enda’s with a comfortable victory over Faughs in the Dublin senior hurling championship tonight.

Cuala opened their title defence with a 1-18 to 0-17 loss at the weekend but they got up and running with a 16-point win at O’Toole Park this evening.

Meanwhile, 13-time Dublin champions St Vincent’s clinically swept Setanta aside in their Group 3 clash at Parnell Park, running out winners on a 6-26 to 2-09 scoreline.

A second victory for Vincent’s moves them one step closer to the quarter-finals.

In tonight’s Group 4 fixture, Craobh Chiarain were too strong for Naomh Barrog as they prevailed 2-15 to 0-5.

Dublin senior hurling championship results:

  • Group 1: Faughs 0-10 Cuala 1-23, O’Toole Park, 7pm
  • Group 3: Setanta 2-09 v St Vincent’s 6-26, Parnell Park, 8.15pm
  • Group 4: Naomh Barrog 0-5 v Craobh Chiarain 2-15, Parnell Park, 6.45pm
