Ballymun and Ballyboden safely into the Dublin SFC quarter-finals

The draw was also made tonight for the last eight games which will take place the weekend after next.

THE DRAW FOR the quarter-finals of the Dublin SFC has been made after a busy weekend of action.

Defending All-Ireland club champions St. Vincent’s will take on Templeogue Synge Street, while 2012 Leinster champions Ballymun Kickhams face Oliver Plunkets in the last eight of the championship.

Ballymun secured their safe passage through to the last eight after handing out a 3-17 to 0-05 beating to Fingal Ravens this evening.

Elsewhere today Ballyboden St. Enda’s enjoyed a convincing 3-15 to 0-8 victory over Ballinteer St. John’s. Dublin manager Jim Gavin looked on as Ballyboden led by 1-9 to 0-6 at the interval but they raced clear after the break and a late Ryan Basquel goal put the icing on a convincing victory.

St. Brigid’s were two point winners over Skerries Harps in a game that took extra-time to separate them. Brigid’s led by two points at the halfway point of normal time but they needed a last second point to take the game to extra-time. In a tense period, St. Brigid’s surged into a 0-15 to 0-11 advantage and saw out the final six minutes.

Finally, Oliver Plunkett’s were six point winners over St. Anne’s. Bernard Brogan’s first-half goal handed them a 1-5 to 0-4 lead at the break and they made no mistake in the second half.
