Dundalk re-sign Keith Ward from Bohemians

Meanwhile, Cork City have announced that both Ian Turner and Danny Murphy have penned new deals at Turner’s Cross.

DUNDALK HAVE ANNOUNCED the signing of Keith Ward from Bohemians.

Ward is entering his second spell at Oriel Park, having spent one season at the club in 2011.

The attacking midfielder was part of the Lilywhites side that reached the Setanta Sports Cup final in 2011 and went on to become a vital member of Gypsies squad last term, as they secured a mid-table finish in the Premier Division.

The former UCD star Ward is one of six signings by new manager Stephen Kenny in preparation for the 2013 season.

Eoghan Osbourne and John Mountney recently re-signed for the club, along with the new trio of Patrick Hoban, John Dillon and Andy Boyle.

Former UCD defender Boyle joins from Shelbourne, and has come to be regarded as one of the best young defenders in the league.
Meanwhile, Cork City have announced that both Ian Turner and Danny Murphy have signed new contracts with the club.

“I am delighted to have signed back; everyone who knows me knows that I want to finish my career at the club,” said full-back Murphy, who made 28 league appearances last year.

“I am looking forward to next season; I think as a club and as a team we need to aim for a top three or four finish. I think that we need to set our sights higher as I think that is where this club belongs.”

Turner, meanwhile, has extended his contract by two years, having made 24 league appearances last term and scored three goals.

“I am happy I played so many games last year, and I hope to improve on that again next year,” said the 23-year-old.

“As a team, we did well to establish ourselves last year, but we need to push on for next year and hopefully look to finish in the top three or four. On a personal level, I am aiming to score and set up more goals next year than I did this season.”
