Ernie Els may have hit the worst putt of all time today

Els was nowhere near the hole from six inches away.

IRELAND’S PAUL DUNNE was the undisputed star on Day 1 of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, but while he announced his arrival onto the professional ranks in style, a four-time major winner had a moment to forget.

Ernie Els eventually signed off for a level par round of 72 at Carnoustie, but it’s bound to be remembered for this howler of a putt from inside one foot.

Else – who has had real troubles with his putting in recent years – couldn’t even find the lip of this one.

Incredible.
