Forget the Ballon d'Or, a Leeds player has won the very first Fallon d'Floor award

Brazilian midfielder Adryan is the prize’s inaugural recipient after his theatrics for the Championship club.

ALL EYES ARE on Zurich later as one of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer will be named the 2014 Ballon d’Or winner.

Leeds United attacking midfielder Adryan won’t be at this evening’s award ceremony but the 20-year-old, on loan from Flamengo, has won the the prize for most theatrical dive of the year.

Back in December, we reported that one Reddit user was setting up the inaugural Fallon d’Floor awards as a light-hearted way to recognise those players who are more Tom Daley than Christian Dailly. A website was then set up and visitors were invited to vote.

And (drumroll) coming in ahead of runner-up Giancarlo Gonzalez (23%) and third-placed Cristiano Ronaldo (17%), was Adryan with 32% of the votes for his embarrassing play-acting in the win over Derby County.

A worthy winner.
