I PLAY FANTASY football.
On average, I spend about seven minutes sorting my team out every Friday. It’s a bit if fun. Like most people, it’s a Monday morning before I even remember to check how my team got on.
Some people however, like this man below, take it too far.
For some people, Fantasy Football is so important they’re willing to write a lengthy letter to the Premier League in order to complain about the minute a player was substituted in.
Steve Rothgeb, a “self-appointed guru in all things Fantasy Sports” as he calls himself on Twitter, got so infuriated by the most trivial issue that he decided to write several hundred words of a letter which was sent to the Premier League.
The issue was as follows: Southampton defender Cedric Soares was substituted with an injury with his side 2-0 up after 59 minutes and 42 seconds played. The Premier League credited him with having played 59 minutes, rather than rounding up to 60, which would have secured him six points, rather than the one point he did secure.
However, his replacement Maya Yoshida did have his 30 minutes and 18 seconds rounded up to 31 minutes.
It prompted him to write this long-winded letter to the Premier League demanding an full explanation.
When all he received was an automated reply from the league, he wasn’t happy.
Did he expect a hand-written letter from Richard Scudamore?
