'Fingers crossed I'll be ready for Sunday' - O'Driscoll

The Leinster centre is desperate to be involved in the RaboDirect Pro12 final.

BRIAN O’DRISCOLL is hoping to be feature for Leinster’s RaboDirect Pro12 final with Ospreys this weekend.

Despite missing a large chunk of the season with a shoulder/neck injury, the 33-year-old centre put in an impressive performance as Leinster won their second consecutive Heineken Cup at Twickenham on Saturday.

Joe Schmidt’s men have postponed their homecoming party until next week as they concentrate on their meeting with the Welsh club at the RDS.

And O’Driscoll, who is only back from key-hole surgery to trim cartilage off his knee, told Newstalk’s Off The Ball that although he was feeling pain during the latter stages of the game, he hopes to be involved on Sunday.

“It (the knee) held up fine,” he said this evening. “It wasn’t the ideal preparation but I was lucky it happened when it did because so I had enough time to recover.

It started getting a little achy and began cramping up near the end probably because I was running a little differently. Fingers crossed it will be good to go for the weekend.”
