OLIVER FISHER PUT a miserable year behind him to win the Czech Open on Sunday, emerging victorious by two shots from Sweden’s Mikael Lundberg.
Once regarded as one of the brightest hopes among a slew of young British golfers, Wilson succumbed to a crippling stomach illness in recent months and dropped to 148th on the European money list.
However, he put all that behind him to seal his maiden European Tour title, birdying the 16th and 17th before winning with par on his final hole.
Wilson’s 69 left him on 13-under for the tournament.
Second placed Lundberg also shot a 69 to leave himself two clear of Fabrizio Zanotti, with Scotland’s Gary Boyd in fourth.
Best of the Irish was Damien McGrane, whose 72 left him on six-under for the tournament and in a tie for ninth place.
