Ecuadorian footballer tries to bite opponent's nose

Yep, that’s a red.

ACTS OF CANNIBALISM ARE difficult to explain away at the best of times, but this latest attempted chew from the Ecuadorian Primera Division side Deportivo Quevedo is right pickle.

Edwin Hurtado is defending a corner for his side, Deportivo Quevedo, when he notices Barcelona’s Andres Franzoia wheeling away from an altercation.

He squares up, close enough to let the sweet scent of flesh waft through his nostrils and SNAP!

We don’t speak Ecuadorian, but we presume the commentary team (despite the laughter) are saying stuff along the lines of, ‘well, there’s no place in football for that sort of thing’. And another likely chimed in with the old, ‘it’s the Latin temperament, Jeff.’
