For sale: Dundalk board moves to find buyer
The cash-strapped owners are hoping an interested party will purchase the club’s long-term lease.

DUNDALK FC IS officially up for sale, it has been announced.

The Airtricity League Premier Division side are in serious financial trouble and last week revealed that they had met with the FAI and PFAI as playing staff hadn’t received payment of their wages.

Owner Gerard Matthews and the board are aiming to secure the club’s continued participation in the Airtricity League and their long-term stability and, in a bid to find a suitable buyer, have released a statement on their website.

Dundalk FC is inviting interested parties to contact the club either in writing or in person in relation to the sale of the club’s long term lease,” it reads.

Their newly-built youth development centre, which has three indoor astro turf pitches, bars, a gym, conference rooms, dressing rooms and an underground car park, is also owned by the club, as is Hiney Park – a four-acre site with a grass pitch.

Supporters group the Dundalk FC Community Trust were registered as a formal entity last week and are in the process of raising funds and signing up members. They intend to submit a formal expression of interest in the coming days.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit a written expression of interest to Oriel Park by July 30. For more information, visit DundalkFC.com.
