RACING MÉTRO HOOKER Dimitri Szarzewski is hopeful he will be fit in time to play for France in their closing Six Nations match against Ireland in Paris on 15 March.
The 78-times capped player will be absent when France take on Scotland in Edinburgh this Saturday after picking up an ankle injury while playing for his club in a Top 14 match.
But he said today on his Twitter account that tests had shown that there was no damage to his ankle ligaments and that he was hopeful he could take his place if selected for the game against the Irish.
France opened the tournament with wins over Italy and England before going down in Wales, which wrecked hopes of a first French Grand Slam since 2010.
