Joy, despair and drama - 15 of the best pictures from Friday's schools rugby action

The Vinnie Murray Cup got underway this afternoon.

THERE WAS DRAMA at Donnybrook earlier as Andrew Hobson’s injury-time try secured Castleknock College a passage through to the next round of the Vinnie Murray Cup.

Hobson’s late score proved decisive in a high-scoring encounter as Castleknock edged into the third round with a 27-25 victory.

Elsewhere, there were victories for Wilson’s Hospital, Skerries Community College, CUS and St Fintan’s High School.

The school’s rugby season intensifies over the coming weeks as the road to glory begins for teams in each of the four provinces.

Here are the best pictures from Friday’s action.
