Friends reunited: Will Robbie get to meet Obama again this week?

Keane’s LA Galaxy have a White House date with the president on Tuesday.

ROBBIE KEANE LOOKS set to add another memorable chapter to his LA story this week — when the Galaxy visit the White House.

The Republic of Ireland captain, who played in last night’s 1-1 draw against Montreal, is expected to meet US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at an official reception on Tuesday afternoon.

Obama has invited Keane and his LA Galaxy team-mates in recognition of their MLS Cup-winning season last year. Keane joined the Galaxy in August 2011 and scored three goals in seven league starts to help the franchise to a third national title.

Following the ceremony, the Galaxy players will hold a clinic with students from across America on the White House’s South Lawn.

It won’t be the first time that Robbie and Obama have come face to face. The striker was part of the celebrations in Dublin’s College Green when Obama made a public appearance as part of a brief state visit to Ireland last May.
