TIPPERARY’S ROUTE ONE approach under Michael Ryan reached new heights on Sunday after they demolished Waterford to the tune of 21 points in the Munster SHC final.

Ryan’s fingerprints were all over Tipperary’s victory as they attacked with long balls and were particularly adept at taking full advantage of Darren Gleeson’s wind-assisted deliveries in the second period.

The Premier’s direct approach left Waterford’s spare defender redundant as they loaded John McGrath and Seamus Callanan with first-time ball before the pair provided some top-class finishes.

Today we analyse how Tipperary’s long ball approach wrapped up their second straight Munster title in style.
