A SCULPTOR HAS come up with a great way to put your old, unwanted hurleys to use.
Paul Berg, who is based in Mountshannon County Clare, runs community workshops which recycle abandoned hurleys by creating art pieces based on the Iron Throne from hit television show ‘Game of Thrones’.
“You collect 150-200 hurleys from your local or wider community and your local GAA club,” Paul says on his Facebook page.
“We make the box frame for the sculpture and paint it (as a background to the hurleys) in your local, country or provincial colours and make the throne, bench or whatever other scupture you have in mind for the project.
“We bring the tools and do the rest. A fun workshop to get involved with, resulting in a piece of sculpture for the whole community to enjoy.”
