Going nowhere: Ryan and Dempsey to remain in Carlow roles

The duo were ratified last night, while ex-Kildare footballer Anthony Rainbow has been named as one of the side’s new selectors.

KEVIN RYAN AND Luke Dempsey have been re-appointed as Carlow hurling and football manager respectively.

KCLR96FM confirmed via Twitter that the pair were ratified last night.

Meanwhile, ex-Kildare player Anthony Rainbow was named as a selector as part of Dempsey’s new management team.

Speaking to the Irish Daily Mirror (print edition), Dempsey emphasised Rainbow’s qualities:

“He is one of the most committed players of the last 20 years and his enthusiasm and determination will be infectious. He will be a huge addition.

“I asked him to come on board as a defensive coach last year but he was committed to the Kildare U21s.”

Carlow enjoyed a relatively successful campaign last year, as they reached the Leinster semi-final for the first time since 1958.
