Happy Christmas, Lance! It’s TheScore.ie’s Christmas card list

Today’s the last posting day for Christmas cards so we imagined some that may, or may not, have been sent by the sporting world.

AN POST WOULD have you believe that Christmas starts when you send a card, but we all know that’s not true.

Christmas starts when you’re explaining to your boss you didn’t mean those things you said after overindulging on the free bar at your office party.

But there is something nice abut receiving a card, especially a personalised one. That said, we’re not sure the intended recipients will be too enamoured with our completely fabricated and badly photoshopped Christmas Cards.

TOO SOON?

Clermont finally got revenge on Leinster for last year’s semi-final defeat with back-to-back victories over the Heineken Cup champions in recent weeks. As they left Dublin, the left Joe, Johnny and company this lovely card:

A CHRISTMAS CRACKER

Manchester United got a bargain when they snapped Robin Van Persie from Arsenal. The least Fergie could do was send Arsene a thank you note:

THIS ONE’S FOR YOU DECLAN

No Declan, this is our year. After throwing him out of the post match press conference, maybe it’s time for the pair’s relationship to start afresh. Jimmy takes the first step:

FORGET ME NOTS

Anthony Pilkington, Wes Hoolahan and Ciaran Clark would all love to play for Ireland. Irish fans would love them to play for Ireland. Let’s hope Trap gets the lads’ message soon:

LANCING THE BOIL

Everyone’s favourite cycling journalist has a simple message for everyone’s favourite former seven-time Tour de France winner. After all, after a 1,000 page USADA report, what else is left to say?

RAIDERS OF THE LOST CAUSE

Look at it this way Liverpool fans, mid-table mediocrity is much better than a relegation dog-fight so go easy on Rodgers even if he does make some rather silly statements:

HAPPY NEW YORK

Christmas doesn’t really matter in Eli Manning’s house, it’s what he can do to the Patriots in January and February that counts. Poor Tom:
