Harry Redknapp takes up role with Roy O'Donovan's Central Coast Mariners

The former Tottenham and West Ham manager will join the A-League side next season.

AUSTRALIAN OUTFIT CENTRAL Coast Mariners have announced that Harry Redknapp will join the club next season.

Redknapp, the former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager, will work for the Mariners as a consultant to — according to the club — “assist Mariners’ recruitment to help unearth gems such as Mitch Austin and lure them to the Central Coast.”

The Mariners finished bottom of the table in the A-League this season, but former Cork City striker Roy O’Donovan picking up the club’s Golden Boot award for finding the net eight times — with one of his strikes voted Goal of the Season.

Redknapp recently had a short spell in charge of Jordan’s national team. Reports suggest that he will also be appointed manager of Nigeria in the coming days.
