60,000 SUPPORTERS TURNED up at Celtic Park yesterday for a charity match involving some of the club’s finest former players.
A day after the club’s Scottish Cup final win, Hoops legends Henrik Larsson and Lubo Moravcik captained the teams for the exhibition game, which was organised to raise funds for the Celtic FC Foundation.
Former Celtic favourites Bobo Balde, John Hartson, Didier Agathe, Alan Stubbs, Stiliyan Petrov, Bobby Petta, Alan Thompson, Tosh McKinley and Neil Lennon also featured along with four-time world snooker champion John Higgins.
And in true Larsson style, the Swedish striker — regarded as the finest goalscorer in the club’s history — bagged a first-half hat-trick as Henrik’s Heroes ran out 5-2 winners over Lubo’s Legends.
Slovakian magician Moravcik got his name on the scoresheet too.

“It’s always nice to be back here,” said Larsson. “Celtic has a special place in my heart. We had some great times here and to go back out there today was fantastic.
“It was great to be back. It feels like home and I really enjoyed it. I haven’t seen some of the lads for many years, so it was great fun to be here, and all the jokes are pretty much the same.
“It’s all for a good cause, and it’s great Celtic FC Foundation are doing all the things they are and we are more than happy to do our bit for them as well.
“It’s important as I know the charity does a lot of great work in things like education and health. They started it a long time ago and they have kept it going. The stadium sold out as well so it means a lot of money is going to them which is great.”
