IT WAS A job well done for Manchester United tonight in Belgium, although one player who probably wasn’t in celebratory mood afterwards was striker Javier Hernandez.
United secured their spot in the draw for the Champions League group stages thanks to a 4-0 away win against Club Brugge, which saw the Red Devils win 7-1 on aggregate.
Hernandez was introduced as a second-half substitute in place of Ander Herrera, but the Mexican didn’t do his cause much good, ending up on his backside after putting an 81st-minute penalty wide of the target.
Hernandez did have one more chance to get his name on the scoresheet in the final minute of normal time.
Ashley Young drilled in a cross from the right and with just the goalkeeper to beat from four yards out, Hernandez’s effort went well over the crossbar.
To be fair to Hernandez, he was unfortunate on both occasions; slipping for the penalty and the cross from Young came at him at pace. One of those nights for Chicharito.
