DON’T YOU JUST hate the first day back at work after a few weeks off?

I know right… especially when it’s cost you over £10million in fines and lost wages.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez will report to the club’s Carrington training ground this morning ending his self-imposed exile.

Manager Roberto Mancini publicly softened his stance on the Argentine in the wake of the victory over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Today he’ll face a series of fitness tests – he hasn’t played for the club since he reportedly refused to go on as a second-half substitute against Bayern Munich in Germany in October.

And if club officials are expecting a contrite employee on their doorstep, they may be disappointed; Louise Taylor last night reported that Tevez couldn’t resist one last dig at his boss.

After insisting that Mancini treated him like a dog over the Allianz Arena affair, Tevez added: “I’ve decided to return to Manchester. I know what it takes to revert the situation. I know it’ll be hard but it’s a nice challenge.

“I want to win the City fans back over. People turned their back on me. I didn’t understand City fans burning my shirt. It hurt. But it’s normal they react like that because they read lots of things,” he added.

Do you think Manchester City players and fans should welcome him back for the title run-in?
