In pictures: Sporting heroes line out for charity hurling match

The great and the good of Irish sport were out in force to help raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society last night.

THE IRISH CANCER Society hosted a celebrity hurling match in St Conleth’s Park, Newbridge on last night and some of the biggest names in Irish sport were on hand to help out as well as show off their skills.

Jim Bolger’s Stars eventually drew with Davy Russell’s Best 8-15 to 7-18 at the end of an epic encounter.

Former Galway hurling supremo and RTÉ analyst Cyril Farrell was the man in the middle for Tuesday’s game.

All Ireland winners from the 80′s, 90′s and 00′s Nicky English, Charlie Carter, Damien Fitzhenry and DJ Carey lined out to support the Irish Cancer Society.
