In pictures: Fionnuala Brittton takes win at national indoors
And there was plenty of other talking points in Athlone.

THE IMPRESSIVE NEW facility at Athlone IT hosted the National Indoor Athletic Championships today.

Fionnuala Britton kicked on to claim a superb win in the final of the women’s 1500m, ahead of  Kerry Harty in second and Laura Crowe third.

John Coughlan — son of Eamon — took the win in the final of the men’s 1500m in a time of 3:47.43. And there was plenty more action; here’s some of our favourite images:  [Pics INPHO/James Crombie]
