Injured pair return for Ulster's Treviso test

Brian McLaughlin will be able to call on captain Johann Muller and centre Darren Cave for Saturday’s trip to Italy.

ULSTER CAPTAIN JOHANN MULLER and centre Darren Cave have both been passed fit to return to action in Saturday’s RaboDirect Pro12 match against Treviso in the Stadio Monigo.

Both Muller and Cave have spent most of the last two months out with injuries, but were named this afternoon in Brian McLaughlin’s 32-man squad for the trip to Italy this weekend.

Cave damaged ligaments when he twisted his foot during the penultimate Heineken Cup pool game against Leicester on 13 January, while Muller has been out of action since his appearance against Clermont Auvergne a week later with a calf injury picked up on the training ground.

The two add some much needed experience to an Ulster panel which is without Rory Best, Andrew Trimble and Stephen Ferris, all of whom are rested following their Six Nations campaign with the national side.

Winger Simon Danielli is still recovering from a hamstring injury and misses out, while Mike McComish cannot play after suffering a concussion in the win over Edinburgh earlier this month.

Declan Fitzpatrick and Jared Payne are also unavailable due to injury.
