Thomas Barr finishes 5th in his final to help Ireland to 7th at European Team Championships

Barr clocked a time of 49.73 in the 400m hurdles final in Vaasa.

THOMAS BARR FINISHED today’s 400m hurdles final at the European Team Championships in Finland in fifth place to help the Irish to a seventh place finish overall.

Barr clocked a time of 49.73 as Norway’s Karsten Warholm claimed victory with 48.48.

The Waterford native was competing at the League 1 competition alongside a number of other Irish athletes, and they finished the event in Vaasa in a respectable position.

The Irish women’s 4x100m team finished their final in second place overall behind Switzerland.
