Ireland's second ODI against Sri Lanka rained off

Typical.

THE COVERS NEVER came off in Clontarf today as rain forced the cancellation of Ireland’s second one-day international against Sri Lanka.

Rain had delayed the scheduled 10.45 start, but after over three hours without a playable window, umpires Richard Kettleborough, Richard Smith and referee Chris Broad conducted a ground inspection and called the match off at 2.20 this afternoon.

We had intended to bring you live coverage of the ODI in the below video, but now it’s nothing but obscured footage of men slowly milling around a field in north Dublin while  disappointed cricket fans look on.
