For the first time ever, you can buy an Ireland women's rugby jersey

This is the jersey Ireland will wear during next month’s World Cup.

WITH JUST SIX weeks until the start of the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup, the IRFU has today launched Ireland’s jersey for the home tournament — and you’ll be able to get your hands on a replica version for the first time ever.

The Canterbury designed shirt will be worn by Niamh Briggs and her team-mates during next month’s tournament in Ireland, and 500 have been made available for supporters to pre-order here.

With the World Cup badge emblazoned on the front, the limited edition jersey is on sale for €85 and will be released on 17 July.

“We are delighted that Canterbury has launched a supporter’s jersey to mark our team’s participation in the historic Women’s Rugby World Cup 2017 which will be played out on home soil. This comes at a time when interest in Women’s rugby is at an all-time high,” IRFU commercial director Padraig Power said.

Hosts Ireland have been drawn in Pool C alongside Australia, France and Japan with Ton Tierney’s side opening their campaign against the Wallabies on Wednesday 9 August.

The group stages will be played in UCD before the tournament heads north for the knock-out rounds, with Ulster’s Kingspan Stadium and Queens University to stage games.
