It's a privilege to play top teams... and Ireland, says Slaven Bilic

Croatia boss reckons there are no easy games in this ‘cruel’ championship.

WHAT’S THE CROATIAN for ‘give it a lash?’

Slaven Bilic says his side have no fears going into a Group C with reigning champions Spain, Italy and Ireland.

“It’s a tough group. I said before this is the most cruel championship; you can’t get easy opponents here,” he told RTE.

“There are 16 teams from across Europe, and of course we have a tough group. We have a privilege in that we are playing against world champions and former world champions. And plus the Republic of Ireland who we played in a  friendly. If the Republic can play in a friendly, if you know what I mean.

“So I’m big time looking forward to it – we are not the favourites, but we have a chance definitely.”
