James McClean is never one to forget his roots and this kind gesture proves it

Well played, James. Well played.

JAMES MCCLEAN’S REPUTATION can often go before him but the Ireland international has proved he’s not the bad boy footballer many make him out to be.

McClean is never one to forget his roots and has kindly supported his former GAA club, Sean Dolans, by sponsoring a new kit for the senior team.

The Derry-based club had their clubhouse burnt down in a fire four years ago and speaking to a local newspaper, club member Danny Cassidy admitted McClean’s gesture would go a long way to helping them rebuilding.

“James McClean, a true son of Creggan, has agreed to sponsor a new senior rig for Sean Dolans,” Cassidy told The Derry Daily.

“James is a credit to the Creggan area and is a real friend of Sean Dolans GAC.

“It makes our task of rebuilding the club a hell of a lot easier when we have the likes of James to support us.”

The West Brom midfielder also earlier announced the birth of his second son.
