JAMES MCCLEAN WAS in buoyant form after watching the successes of Italy and Costa Rica against England and Uruguay respectively at the World Cup in Brazil yesterday.
The Derry native made a favourable reference to two of Ireland’s recent friendlies against the victorious sides in question on Twitter, in which they were indeed “unbeaten,” earning draws against both the Italians and the Costa Ricans.
Of course, he neglected to mention their other recent friendly — the emphatic 5-1 loss against Portugal — which is probably for the best.
