WITH A THREE-foot putt, Jordan Spieth completed a truly remarkable week and won the 2015 Masters.

The 21-year-old clinched his first Major championship with a closing round of two-under-par 70, sealing a four-shot victory over runners-up Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose.

His winning score of -18 (270) matches the tournament record set by Tiger Woods when he won his first green jacket in 1997.

“It is the most incredible week of my life,” Spieth said as the magnitude of his achievement set in.

“This is as good as it gets in our sport and it’s a dream come true for me.”

World number one Rory McIlroy was six shots back in fourth after finishing with an impressive 66 on Sunday.

But the day, and the week, belonged to Spieth who closed out a wire-to-wire victory in nerveless fashion.

2014′s runner-up began racking up tournament records on Thursday when he became the youngest 18-hole leader of the tournament and went on to set both the 36-hole and 54-hole records as he continued his dominance into the weekend.

As he rolled in a birdie on the 15th, the sixth of his round and an unprecedented 28th of the week, he made another piece of history as the first player ever to reach -19 par.

After sleeping on a four-shot lead overnight — although a little restlessly, he admitted — Spieth started the day in perfect fashion with birdies on the first and the third.

Even when dropped shots at the fifth and the seventh threatened to inject a bit of drama into the procession, Spieth never blinked.

He made birdie at eight and 10 to keep Rose and Mickelson at arm’s length, and bounced back from a bogey at 12 with a birdie at 13 — the latter coming after a marvellous approach shot.
