IT HAS BEEN confirmed that Katie Taylor will fight on the undercard of Andy Lee’s WBO title fight with Billy Joe Saunders on 19 September.

Middleweight champion Lee is set to defend the belt he won against Matt Korobov at Thomond Park on what is sure to be a special night for Irish boxing.

Reigning Olympic, world and European champion Taylor had been expected to compete on the night but sexist comments by Saunders threw her participation into doubt.

However, details of the Bray orthodox’s fight will be unveiled at a press conference at The Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin next Tuesday, 4 August.
