Katie Taylor is now just one win away from Olympic qualification

The 2012 gold medallist cruised through her last-16 bout at the World Boxing Championships this afternoon.

KATIE TAYLOR IS now just one win away from qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games.

The Bray boxer made light work of Argentina’s Dayana Sanchez in their last-16 bout in Astana this afternoon to reach the quarter-finals with a unanimous victory.

The top four women in the lightweight division at the AIBA World Boxing Championships will all qualify for Rio so Taylor knows a win next time out will allow her defend her Olympic title.

She also remains on course to claim a sixth successive world title.
