One down, two to go: Taylor's class shines through against Petric

Ireland’s Olympic champion was victorious in the first of three fights she takes on this weekend.

WORLD CHAMPION KATIE Taylor kicked off three fights in the space of 48 hours with a win over Marija Petric at Cork’s Rochestown Park Hotel last night.

Ireland’s Olympic gold medallist faced her Croatian opponent in the lightweight bout and earned a unanimous decision over four rounds.

The 27-year-old lightweight returns to the ring tonight when she meets Anais Kistler of Switzerland before facing American Kristin Karlson at Waterford’s Dungarvan Sports Centre on Saturday.
