Katie Taylor's next opponent is a Brazilian fighter with an impressive pro record

Viviane Obenauf has suffered defeat just once in her professional career.

LESS THAN 48 hours after her dream professional debut, Katie Taylor’s next opponent has been confirmed as Viviane Obenauf of Brazil.

Taylor, as expected, made light work of Poland’s Karina Kopinska at Wembley Arena on Saturday night, stopping the journeywoman [7-15-3, 2KOs] in the third round of a one-sided fight.

But the Bray boxer’s next challenge, on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s IBF heavyweight title fight against Eric Molina in Manchester on 10 December, is shaping as a much trickier assignment.

Obenauf [9-1, 4KOs) has never been knocked out or stopped, her sole defeat coming on points against the undefeated Vissia Trovato [7-0, 3KOs] of Italy, the recently-crowned featherweight world champion, in November 2015.

Next month’s fight will be Obenauf’s first contest outside of Switzerland, where the 30-year-old currently resides.

Obenauf’s most recent fight was also against Kopinska, a 1 October bout she won via a unanimous decision in Berne.
