KEITH ANDREWS SAYS he is loving the drive and passion of Damien Duff after Brentford got their Premier League season off to a stunning start with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The former Shelbourne boss was added to Andrews’ coaching staff over the summer and has settled straight into life at the west London club.

The pair represented the Republic of Ireland together while also working as part of Stephen Kenny’s international backroom team and Andrews insists that history counts for a lot as they embark on this campaign together.
“He’s got a lot of responsibilities – he’s my number two. He’s a magnificent coach, he’s brilliant support for me day-to-day. Someone I trust implicitly, someone who’s already built up a really good rapport with staff members and players.
“Undoubtedly, they will look at his playing career, but that’s just a tiny bit of it for me that makes him who he is. It’s that craft of his coaching, the level of detail, his passion that I love working with every day.
“I just want Damien to be Damien really. I’ve known him a long, long time. Someone, again, who I trust. I love his personality, I love his drive, I love his passion and we’re working really, really well together with all of the other coaches.”
Dubliner Stephen Rice is another who has been part of the set-up since last season, taking over Andrews’ duties as set-piece coach after he was given the top job following Thomas Frank’s departure for Spurs.
“We want to be unpredictable, we want to be able to create opportunities in different ways. Set pieces have been pretty well highlighted at this club. Look at the game [on Saturday] we created far more opportunities than just from set pieces but I have to say set piece wise we’re in a really good groove at the moment, we do look really, really dangerous,” Andrews said.
