TIPPERARY’S SENIOR HURLERS have been dealt a blow with news that Kieran Bergin is set to miss up to a month with a hand injury.

TheScore.ie has learned that the wing-back broke a bone in his left hand during a club semi-final last night.

Bergin’s Killenaule beat Mullinahone 0-12 to 0-11 to book a place in the final of the South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, where they will meet Carrick Swan.

But the win came at a cost and after seeing a specialist in Belfast today, Bergin faces a few weeks on the sidelines to allow a break below his small finger to heal.

Depending on the exact recovery time, it could rule him out of Tipp’s next Championship outing. Eamon O’Shea’s men are scheduled to play in Phase II of the All-Ireland Qualifier Series on 6 July.
