Kildare see off Meath to set up Leinster minor final clash with Laois

A fourth consecutive final awaits – the first time the county has managed that feat.

Kildare 0-19
Meath 0-15

KILDARE WILL FACE Laois in the Leinster minor football championship final at Croke Park after the Lilywhites saw off Meath in this evening’s semi-final.

After the sides were locked at 0-12 apiece at full-time, the pendulum continued to swing before the away side eventually prevailed by four points.

Next Sunday’s final at HQ will be Kildare’s fourth consecutive provincial final at this grade as they go in search of a third crown in four years.

Laois will be their opponents this year after they edged past Offaly in the other last four clash on Tuesday.

The teams exchanged blows throughout a tight, but entertaining, clash in Navan and they couldn’t be separated after 60 minutes before Brendan Hackett’s side earned a stunning extra time victory.

The Leinster minor football championship final takes place on 17 July at 2pm.
