Leinster will make late call on Sexton

Leinster will wait on the fitness of Jonathan Sexton as Brian O’Driscoll says the onus is on the players to improve.

LEINSTER WILL MAKE a late decision on the fitness of Jonathan Sexton for Saturday’s Magners League showdown with Munster at the Aviva Stadium.

The Ireland out half has been recovering from a quad injury sustained during the warm up for the Cardiff Blues game on 11 September and a decision will be left to the last minute with Isa Nacewa on standby.

Elsewhere, in the backline, Gordon D’Arcy continues his centre partnership with Brian O’Driscoll, with Luke Fitzgerald, Shane Horgan and Rob Kearney forming the back three.

Cian Healy will start in the front row alongside Mike Ross. Sean O’Brien and Nathan Hines also return to the starting line-up with O’Brien is named in the back row alongside Dominic Ryan and Jamie Heaslip who will captain the team.

Brian O’Driscoll has called on his team mates to improve following last weekend’s defeat to Edinburgh and before that Italian side Treviso. As reported by The Irish Times, O’Driscoll says the onus is on the players to up their game:

We have a point as players to prove that we haven’t become a bad team overnight. We just need to do the simple things well, grow into the game and get a little bit of confidence. There is a huge onus on player responsibility this weekend to front up individually and then as a team collectively.
