CANADIAN POLICE HAVE issued arrest warrants for two Brazilian footballers over the alleged sexual assault of a Toronto woman during the Pan Am Games in July.

The two members of the Brazilian football team — Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon and Andrey Da Silva Ventura of Botafogo — met the 21-year-old victim and another woman at a Toronto nightclub on 25 July and accompanied them to the home of one of the women, where the assault is alleged to have taken place.

“The victim, once she arrived at home, went to sleep. The men then entered the bedroom and sexually assaulted her,” Toronto police Inspector Joanna Beaven-Desjardins told a press conference.

Two days later, the two men flew back to Brazil.

Piazon has made a handful of senior appearances for Chelsea but has been loaned out to four clubs in the past three years.

He is currently spending the season at Championship side Reading.
