Man United defender denies rumours he's one of two players planning to come out as gay

MANCHESTER UNITED AND England defender Luke Shaw has strongly denied he is one of two Premier League footballers reportedly planning to reveal they are gay.

The 20-year-old hit back at claims that he was one of the two players about to reveal their sexuality after the Daily Mirror led with the exclusive on their front page yesterday.

The newspaper say one of them is an England international.

Shaw, who is currently recovering from a broken leg, took to Twitter last night to dispel the rumours. The left-back replied to a message posted by Man United fan account @UnitedStandMUFC.

“The idiocy of these Luke Shaw rumours & he’s not even gay! And so what if he is? He’s a United player and we support him #MUFC,” it read

To which Shaw replied: “it’s not me so everyone can shut up now.”
