NOTHING SAYS A major championship is here more than defacing your national flag by scrawling the name of your local pub on it.

Davy Keogh has made his name by tying his banner to hundreds of stadiums through the years. Fans have paid tribute to their favourite boys in green. Bank and credit union managers have been thanked for the financial banking that supported trips to Germany, Italy and Korea.

And while Giovanni Trapattoni has been preparing his squad for the tournament in Poland, the Green Army have been getting ready too.
