Man United took on Newcastle, with the Red Devils needing a win to keep pace with rivals City.

Kick off for the games is at 5.30pm.

We’re under way…

It’s been a quiet enough opening.

Neither team has threatened, with Newcastle sitting back and inviting the hosts on.

Valencia makes a great run down the right.

The cross finds Lukaku, who fails to hit the target with a first-time attempt.

MAN UNITED 0-1 NEWCASTLE (GAYLE 14)

Out of nothing, Newcastle take the lead.

Yedlin crosses for Gayle to cross home.

A corner is half cleared, before Rashford fires the ball wide.

It looks set to be a difficult evening for United, with Newcastle pretty solid so far.

Newcastle have loads of space as they break again.

However, Murphy’s weak shot is comfortably saved by De Gea.

Moments later, the same player fires just wide after an excellent through ball by Shelvey.

The Magpies look dangerous on the counter-attack.

Man United continue to dominate possession, but Newcastle look very solid.

Ciaran Clark has just headed a ball out of play.

As I type, Lukaku can’t quite properly connect with Lindelof’s ball in, and the Belgian striker heads the ball off target.

It’s been a frustrating opening half hour for United.

They are really struggling to break down this stubborn Newcastle backline.

Rob Elliot is down injured after falling awkwardly while catching the ball.

It looks like he’s going to be okay to continue though.

MAN UNITED 1-1 NEWCASTLE (MARTIAL 37)

Pogba beats Hayden down the right.

The Frenchman dinks it to the backpost, allowing Martial to rise above Yedlin and head powerfully home.

Murphy gets a sight at goal from distance, but drags his shot wide.

Newcastle continue to pose a threat on the counter.

Joselu almost heads Young’s cross into his own net, but it goes just over.

Man United have been much more of a threat in the second part of this first half.

Lukaku wants a penalty after being dragged back by Clark in the box as he attempts to go for goal.

On BT Sport, Graham Poll says it should have been a penalty, though both players were surely guilty of wrestling with each other.

MAN UNITED 2-1 NEWCASTLE (SMALLING 46)

An excellent cross from Young enables Smalling — who stayed up from a set piece — to head home at the backpost.

It’s a long way back for Newcastle now.

Hayden forces a good save from De Gea after being played through, before Richie’s shot deflects wide off Gayle.

That’s a let off for United.

HALF-TIME: MAN UNITED 2-1 NEWCASTLE

The second half has begun…

United seem to have switched to a 4-4-2 this half, with Rashford and Lukaku up top.

As I type, the strikers almost link up, but Elliot is alert to get to Rashford’s flick on ahead of Lukaku.

MAN UNITED 3-1 NEWCASTLE (POGBA 54)

Lukaku crosses for Rashford, who heads intelligently into Pogba’s path.

The French international makes no mistake with a finish from close range, and this game appears to be all over.

Pogba has certainly made a huge difference on his return, with a goal and an assist so far.

United, meanwhile, have looked more potent since switching to a 4-4-2, with Rashford and Lukaku linking up well.

Newcastle can’t keep the ball at the moment.

Probably just a matter of how many United win by now.

Aarons replaces Richie for Newcastle.

It’s his first league appearance of the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic starts warming up to cheers at Old Trafford.

As I type, Murphy’s shot from distance is tipped away by De Gea.

Gayle is down following a poor, mistimed challenge by Smalling.

The England defender is booked as a result.

United make a first change.

BT Sport’s man of the match Pogba, who has been excellent, is replaced by Fellaini

MAN UNITED 4-1 NEWCASTLE (LUKAKU 70)

Lukaku and Mata link up beautifully.

The Belgian international then blasts the finish home to break his goal duck.

Newcastle make another change.

Joselu is replaced by Mitrovic.

Ibrahimovic comes on to loud cheers.

He replaces Martial, who has had a good game.

Newcastle make a final change.

Diame replaced Gayle.

Shelvey has put an attempt just wide, as Newcastle go in search of a consolation.

Meanwhile, Herrera has replaced Mata in United’s final change.

The game has hit a bit of a lull now.

Both sides know the match is all but over.

Ibrahimovic goes close on his return.

His scissors kick is parried out by Elliot.

FULL-TIME: MAN UNITED 4-1 NEWCASTLE

Right, that’s all from me.
