Marquez v Pacquiao: this time it's personal

The two boxers have become engaged in a war of words ahead of their fight on November 12.

JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ has provoked Manny Pacquiao ahead of their showdown next month.

Marquez has faced the Filipino boxer on two occasions in the past, and despite drawing once and narrowly losing a split decision four years ago, he believes he was robbed of a win by the judges in both instances.

However, Pacquiao’s trainer Alex Ariza has claimed that Marquez’s words have only served to increase the boxer’s focus ahead of their bout. He told reporters:

“I don’t think I’ve seen him more focused, and I think it’s because it’s personal, for sure. When something is personal, it’s a lot different. He knows that he has to make a statement in this one. With everyone having questions about the first two, he has to make sure in this one that there’s no doubt.”

The fight for the WBO welterweight title takes place on November 12.
