CONOR McGREGOR’S OPPORTUNITY to gain revenge against Nate Diaz will come on Saturday, 20 August.

The welterweight rematch will take place at UFC 202 in Las Vegas.

After Diaz submitted McGregor at UFC 196 back in March, the pair agreed to fight again at UFC 200 on 9 July. However, the bout fell through after McGregor had a disagreement with UFC bosses over promotional duties for the fight.

Speaking to ESPN’s SportsCenter on Thursday, UFC president Dana White said that while efforts were being made to rearrange the rematch, there was no guarantee it would ever take place.

Diaz had been holding out for an improved financial offer but the fight was officially announced during tonight’s broadcast of UFC 199, with Diaz in attendance at The Forum in Los Angeles.
