LAST YEAR, LIONEL Messi shocked the world by showing up to collect his Ballon d’Or trophy in polka dots.

But this year he’s gone one better, keeping his chosen material to one shade and making that shade a gorgeous bauble red.

Here he is being introduced to the audience in Zurich, along with the rest of the FIFPro FIFA World team of the Year.
